Wallcovering Business & Installation Essentials

Imagine yourself making your own schedule everyday, taking as much vacation as you want to take each year, and determining how much money you want to make each year (not other people!) Imagine doing  your job in a different place every day, not an boring office cubicle, and not a cold or hot construction site. You could work with the satisfaction of knowing you're making rooms beautiful and worthy of an HGTV homeowner reveal while making your clients happy.

The course that I have developed is the result of over 40 years of experience in the wallpaper hanging business. Believe me, along the way I made mistakes. Hung paper completely wrong, and had to return some deposits. But I have learned from those mistakes, and then fine tuned my installation techniques and learned better ways to handle my business. As a matter of fact, I was asked to make a presentation at the Wallpaper Installation Alliance annual conference, (WIA) because my colleagues loved the way I had streamlined and maximized my business!

You'll benefit in a big way by taking a shortcut around all the common mistakes. I Promise you, you will save years and a lot of money by learning how to start this business the right way, or even fine tune the business you already have, and the best and most flawless way to hang wallpaper.

You see, it is common knowledge in this business that wallpaper hangers are retiring at unprecedented numbers, and not enough people are learning their trade and techniques before they leave. I personally know 5 who have retired in my area in just the last year. Many clients that I talk to are frustrated that they can't find someone to install for them, and are then delighted when they find me.

In case you are not familiar with the wallcovering business, YES, wallpaper is back!  There was a period a while back where it wasn't popular, but it came back stronger and better than it ever was. The variety of designs are absolutely enormous, with a beautiful option for everyone, every room and space imaginable. I sincerely doubt that it will ever go through that dip again because the patterns available now are just amazing, no matter who you are trying to please.

As I thought about how to best to communicate my knowledge to the people that come behind me, I knew that it had to be in person, and not online. You just can't learn this business without getting your hands on the tools and materials you'll use everyday. I've taught someone who tried to learn that way from another well-known course out there and they came away with very little knowledge and no skills. I was shocked with how much I had to teach her!

So, the class I have put together is a 4 day intensive in a classroom, which includes hands on time. The class size is limited so that everyone will get a chance to get on the wall multiple times. A written workbook is included.

The next phase is you working with me, one-on-one, doing real life jobs in client homes for 2 weeks. This is where I will teach you more and refine your installation techniques. You'll also see how I set up my table and materials and how I interact with homeowners. I have many clients that I have worked with on multiple rooms in their house, so you can benefit from seeing how I deal with people.

I've been told that I am a very patient and kind teacher, so you don't have to worry about a stressful learning situation. I also like to have fun and laugh, so make sure to bring your sense of humor with you!

I also thought that I would give students the opportunity to apprentice with me as a third phase. You can learn more about that here.  This kind of apprenticeship is not available in any other wallpaper hanging course, only to our students!

What I am doing is setting you up for not just your next job, but a career. A career that will last you as long as you want it to. The demand for wallpaper and wallpaper hangers is hot, with no end in sight. This is a good paying industry too, with most of the hangers I know making over six figures a year. Now, I can't promise that pay for everyone in every area, but my research in talking to people across the country says that with dedication and the marketing techniques I've developed over the years, you can do the same.

You'd think with all that I am offering, the in-person class, the one on one, two weeks with me, the apprenticeship, and the mentoring zoom calls, that you could be spending $20,000 or more to start your career. Most community and state colleges and trade programs will cost that for a year. Typical HVAC certificate programs can cost somewhere up to $15,000. But we aren't going to take a year or years though - this intensive program is designed to teach you all that you need, and nothing that you don't need - fast. That's why the first step, the in-person class is only $2,500. This is an incredible value for learning a trade that is going to bring you many 100's of thousands of dollars to you over your lifetime.

Ultimately, if we choose to do an apprenticeship together where I will be paying you, your investment in the in-person class and the one-on-one week will be a wash!

It is your choice, you can do all three phases of this program, or just one or two. I want you to have everything that you need and nothing that you don't need.

I understand that this is a chunk of money at one time. If you need to spread out some payments, give me a call and let's talk about it. We do accept credit cards.

We are taking reservations for the only 5 class slots that are available. We are dedicated to making this a positive, hands-on experience for each person so the class size reflects that. Those slots will go quickly, so make sure you let us know of your interest as soon as you can. Our class will be in the summer of 2025 at the Doubletree Hotel in Aurora, CO. If you are interested in hearing about new details as they become available, go to the contact page and let us know. I'm looking forward to bringing you into the paperhanger family!
